Boho Rustic Beach Elopement - O'ahu, Hawai'i

If you’re planning to elope outdoors, you might be considering an arch as the centerpiece for your special day!! Whether it’s a simple + clean circular arch, or an extravagantly decorated floral masterpiece, the arch not only sets the tone for your entire ceremony, but is arguably one of the most important components of your elopement.

After all, it showcases where you will say your vows and ”I do’s.”

Wedding arches can come in a variety of different shapes and sizes. Circular, angular (think various geometric shapes), flowerless (balloons or billowing fabrics), bamboo, rustic, or even arches made out of barn doors.

At this intimate O’ahu beach elopement, the couple opted for a triangular boho arch, decorated with simple pampas grass. Wooden arches are perfect for small destination elopements, and can turn any space into an intimate ceremony – whether it’s on top of a mountain or by the ocean on a secluded beach!

A simple wood arch acts as a blank canvas and creates endless options to decorate it however you would like! They are also easy to break down, using a screwdriver, to transport with ease. Arches are so versatile in the sense that you can dress them up or dress them down.

Here are some simple + unique ideas to dress up the wedding arch at your elopement!!

  • Add a simple satin drape with arranged floral accents to add a sense of romance to your overall design.

  • In a tropical environment (like a California vineyard or a tropical beach in Hawai’i), an abundance of lush foliage would be the perfect addition.

  • If your day’s style leans to be more boho or rustic, adding simple pampas grass around the arch will definitely elevate the details.
